The first step to becoming an effective communicator is to understand that people communicate in different ways. People send and receive the same signals through different, very personal filters, so the same message, email or phone call can take on distinct meanings depending on the audience. The various methods of communication can also have an effect on messages being carried to and from different people. For example, a message delivered in person may be received differently than if it were sent in a text or email, mainly due to the personal nature of face-to-face contact.

Communication, though it seems simple on the surface, is actually quite a complex area of business that costs companies untold millions every year. Most companies underestimate the importance of communication and therefore don’t give it the proper time, energy and resources that it deserves. The Effective Communication program can help your company and employees to improve communications skills, overcome communication barriers, and truly understand styles of behaviour and the various ways of communicating.

LMI’s eight-phase Effective Communication program is designed to help organizations improve their communication skills from top to bottom and, in the process, also learn how to solve problems through communication.

Like all of our developmental programs, the road to more effective communication begins with an introduction to the basic concepts of the LMI Process and our developmental approach. Your complete buy-in to the notions of multi-sensory learning, spaced repetition and the power of goal setting is vital to successfully completing the program. Additionally, our personal and job related goal planning sheets and goal tracking systems will ensure that you always know where you stand and how much you’re improving.

The core phases of the Effective Communication program delve into the details of communication as the essential human connection and the overall psychology of communication. These middle phases outline the importance of comprehension and understanding as the keys to effective communication. From there, we’ll end by helping you understand and become open to the notions of solving problems and building successful relationships through communication.

LMI's programs follow a developmental process, and our Effective Communication program may be a great way for you to achieve your current goals. The most important aspect of any of our programs is you; your level of engagement and participation will go a long way in determining your success. Most successful LMI partners begin with an Effective Personal Productivity Showcase to gain an understanding of the process and how our programs will specifically cater to your needs.
